I’m looking to replace a 1 TB USB Hard disk drive, but in doing so I’m considering something that could also serve as a portable media player. I’ve noticed by Iomega online, but is there a proper name for these devices so I can find the best price comparison?

Also, would it be possible for audio video adapters be able to be plugged into a USB hard drive and connect to a TV that would play video files if the needed software was installed?

My board has 4 SATA ports
1 - Main HD
2 - Optical Drive
3 - empty <-- looking into the new HD here
4 - empty

But I was thinking of making the 1TB HD the main and the 320GB the Backup .. is this a good idea?

And is the 1TB HDD a much better device than my original HD? Speed wise .. and such?
I thought the same thing til I looked it up .. and some process info faster than others and etc.
