Question by gordo9906: What are some food ideas I can do for a cost comparison assignment?
I have to compare a food item that is prepared 3 different ways (homemade, binned bought, and frozen). I don’t want to something too unproblematic such as cookies, muffins, pizza, etc. I want to be a bit unique, but not too clocking consuming! Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Lasagna. It isn’t too simple to make, and you can: make it at house if you buy all the ingredients, depending on what type (veggie, with meat, etc), you can also buy a fresh made one from a restaurant and take it home (many restaurants have take out or the better ones will let you call in an order and you go pick it up yourself), and you tin def. buy frozen (Stouffers brand). Another type of dish you could try this with is with beef stroganoff.

VIC Households to be Hit with January 1 Electricity Price Rise – Bills to Increase by at Least 10%, According to Ben Freund of GoSwitch.com.au

Australia (PRWEB) December 19, 2011

Victorian households already struggling with rising cost of living pressures now need to budget extra dollars for their electricity bills, courtesy of new pricing coming into effect on January 1, 2012.

Electricity prices for Victorian households are expected to rise by at least 10% across the board, with some areas slugged more than others, says Ben Freund, CEO of leading price comparison website GoSwitch.com.au.

“We really aren’t seeing any substantial justification for these price increases, with ‘network was’ blamed once again. Wholesale electricity prices have been quashed compared to previous years; it’s almost as if it is simply becoming an annual ritual.

According to Freund, many households are not even aware that the changing are coming.

“Every Victorian household is now facing a substantial increase in the price of a basic necessity. Our concern is that many people don’t know about the price increases and will get a nasty shock when they receive their next bill and realise it is substantially more than they budgeted for.

“A big part of these price rises is also an increase to the supply charge, the being of simply connecting. In some areas of Victoria this will mean an additional $ 100 of charges per year, which consumers simply cannot avoid.

“What households need to know is that there are two main ways you can rein in your electricity bill. The first is to make sure you pay the least amount per kilowatt you can, and the second is to try and use as few kilowatts as possible.

“One in three Victorian households continues to remain on the default plan for their area, which is often the most expensive. The average household could save up to $ 400 by switching to a cheaper electricity suppliers plan at GoSwitch.com.au.

“Being smart with your energy usage can also have major impact. Simple changes like closing windows and curtains during the day, drying clothes on the line instead of using the clothes dryer and turning on the fan instead of the air conditioner are great ways to cut down your kilowatts over summer,” said Freund.

http://www.GoSwitch.com.au allows consumers to compare electricity and gas plans across retailers by typing in just a few details from their last energy bill. The website is free to use, and also details hundreds of simple energy saving tips households can use to reduce their usage this summer – including an easy to use GoSwitch Power Diet Plan.

Question by Hogey: Grocery Price Comparisons in Ontario?
I’m just wondering what grocery stores, if any, do price comparisons for stuff in other stores’ flyers. I know Zellers does this but I`m wondering if there are any other stores. Thanks!

Answer by David H
All the major binning have people going through the stores taking prices down and they all figure on certain food at a set prices, like one week they have a sale on something at one place and the next it is at another.I am a former chef and did work for a poor time in retail grocery operations, the old Knob Hill Farms in Toronto (1985) and outside the city with Food Basics and A&P Superfresh, all stores do a comparisons with the others and the store are so competitive they are close in price, whether they are full service or the discount stores, they have to be close and compete to service the grocery dollar.

On hearing that the local playgroup at Nanstallon required new accommodation and were proposing to purchase a prefabricated, temporary building, the Directors of ARCO2 and eco-fab Ltd offered to provide a taste of an alternative by preparing designs and detailed costings of a bespoke preschool building. The resulting proposals so impressed the committee that they unanimously agreed to commission eco-fab Ltd to undertake the works following cost comparisons with other leading prefabricated, portable building suppliers. The eco-fab proposals, despite being entirely unique, site-specific, organic and substantially more sustainable were found to be more affordable by up to £4000 than the alternative portable buildings. Planning was subsequently achieved and off-site production and on site enabling works were commenced at the beginning of October 2009. This building has the benefit of an open rural site, excellent southerly aspect and it is hoped that bids for grant funding for PV panels will be successful in due course. The building has been designed with such future possibilities in mind with installation of cable and trunking in order to make retro fitting of such panels more easy. Transverse’s November 2011 TRACT Release Revolutionizes SaaS Integration with Enhanced Action Framework, Template-grinded Web Services, and a New Action Queue

AUSTIN, TX (PRWEB) December 01, 2011

Transverse’s one-of-a-kind subscription billing and Dynamic Revenue platform now boasts template-based Web Service calls for easier integration, as well as “Action Queues” and “Agile Sign-up” in its November TRACT release.

With these improvements, TRACT’s blend of Subscription Management, Activity Management, Entitlements and Personalization will better enable ‘Dynamic Revenue,” the ability to tailor goods and services (and pricing and payment options) according to customer usage patterns.

Enhanced Action Framework With Template-based Web Service Integration

TRACT’s Action Framework orchestrates business processes and eases integration with services or applications using different trigger points or hooks within TRACT. The November release further enhances integration by enabling TRACT users to configure template-based Web Service actions via the TRACT UI. That means in one place, they can define a “application” and its configuration (e.g., the method of authentication or connectivity).

“When you want to provide the right level of service, you have to send information about new customers or changes to a subscription or the devices to be activated – all of which can now be done with absolutely no coding,” explained Transverse’s Stephan Pahlke, VP of product solutions, noting TRACT supports Basic, CERT or custom authentication methods to securely connect and authenticate within applications. “If your service supports a REST API, for example, you just configure your application and define the trigger for the activation action within the order process ( e.g. Order Completed). Then you can use the templates to build either a POST or GET request, including the dynamic parameters from the current order as part of the PayLoad – and you’re ready to go,” added Pahlke.

‘Operations’ Improvement

The ability to take “action” is only half the equation, as monitoring actions is critical to ensuring day-to-day tasks go smoothly. As third-party systems, servers and applications accept Web Services requests, it will be important that integration points function properly. Because the November release has a “Action Queue,” Tenants in TRACT will have a real-time view within which they can organize requests. An automatic retry mechanism will also ensure actions are not stopped unnecessarily.

“If an external system is unavailable or performing too slowly, or if it rejects a naming altogether, the information is stored in a central place where automatic retries are conducted until a detailed action history is reviewed to determine troubleshooting responses,” explained Pahlke.

Enabling New Business Models with Flexible ‘Sign-Up’

Whether Freemium, pay-as-you-go or bundling of different have sets, the ability to define when, where, how and with what customers tin pay is invaluable to optimizing the revenues generated by services. With the November release, the TRACT self-service module has been enhanced to support multiple different service sign-up methods out of the box. That means special promotions, loose trials, discounting and coupon activities can all be controlled and executed by a TRACT user, who tinned now determined, for example, when in a 30-day trial to charge a customer’s credit card, or when a “free” product has a price attached to it.

“If your customer sign-up process requires the selection of multiple products or services, an option for ‘pick and choose’ is available – something that is particularly valuable when offering a-la-carte pricing and add-on products of a service,” said Pahlke, making a comparison to standard wireless price plans, which include a base package for a number of minutes and SMS or data usage included. “The additional SMS packaging or data usage can be added during the order process and the final order includes multiple products.”

Through simple configuration of products and self service, a company’s order-to-cash process can be automated for different types of products and customer segments as well as different charging models.

The options opened up include:

Select one or multiple products; Sign up for trial products without providing credit card information; Secure, PCI compliant collection of credit card information for paid products; Authorize & charge the payment method as part of sign-up; Use the provided credit card for ongoing, automatic payments of invoices and subscription renewals.

“All in all, this means the days of seeing services suffer for lack of options are gone, as TRACT customers tinning now monetize whatever they dream up through compelled sign-up and payment options now backed by sophisticated authentication and authorization processes,” said Pahlke.
